This is a fascinating interview with Nicholas O’Shaughnessy, author of “Marketing the Third Reich,” a book about the extremely successful handling of propaganda by the Third Reich.
One of the best moments in the interview is when the author explains at length how the fact that he studied Third Reich propaganda, and arrived at the conclusion that it was extremely persuasive, effective as well as imitated in future years by the Nazis’ enemies, doesn’t make him a Nazi. He’s obviously resisting a different strand of propaganda there.
Anyway, it sounds like a terrific book. I’ll try to get my hands on it.
